Sous Vide & Seared NY Strip Strips Sandwich and a Newfangled Old Fashioned

When I was hunting the fridge looking to bag something for lunch, this just jumped out in front of me:
Strips of NY Strip
Well, it wasn’t that exactly, it was a 3oz piece of sous vide NY Strip that most glorious spousal unit set aside for me. She’s thoughtful that way.

What to do, what to do?
Seared NY Strip Strips
I’d initially thought about a grilled cheese sandwich. Why not add some NY Strip strips?

A little salt and pepper here, a little sear there, toasty bread over there, and voilà!
Grilled Cheese with Meat!
All well and good, but I needed a beverage. Adult if you please. Bourbon infused.
Old Fashioned?
Thus a Newfangled Old Fashioned is born.

2oz Bourbon of choice
5 drips of bitters
1/4oz agave nectar
Two pinches of turbinado sugar
Glass with ice

Hmmm, seems we’re missing a glass.
Wedged In
There you are, so nice of you to join in the fun.

Mix up the stuff and pour it in the glass.
Here we are now, entertain us.
When hunting in the deep wilds of the fridge, you just never know what you’ll find.

  1. Ah Beef!! Delicious anytime and great on a grilled cheese. I’ve never actually had an Old Fashioned in my life! Hope things are going well for you!

    • Hi Biz!

Thanks so much for popping in. You know, you can fix that Old Fashioned deficit 🙂

We’re fine and wish you well!
