Just a Chicken Sandwich

One of my favorite food things is a chicken sandwich. Not that reconstituted, glued, formed, and neatly sliced stuff, but real chicken. It is one of my favorite pedestrian foods.

For this one, I started with toasted sourdough. The sourdough was then coated with chunky blue cheese salad dressing.

Wonderful Chicken Sandwich

Below, please find the ingredients:

Sharp cheddar, avocado, bacon, fresh garden tomato, dill pickle, and, of course, chicken

I think you can figure it out from the picture, but for the ingredient impaired, that’s sharp cheddar in the upper left, avocado slices, crispy bacon, fresh-picked-right-from-my-garden tomato (number 2 on the season), kosher dill pickle, and, of course, chicken breast.

Assemble and serve.

Chicken Sandwich, Whole

That’s it. What more can I say?

I think I’ll have one for lunch!

If that’s pedestrian I can’t wait to find a post of a dish where you went all out. My stomach is giving Mr. Francis some competition.

  2. The noise you just heard is my stomach growling. Man I’m hungry now!!! Can’t go wrong with blue cheese, bacon, avocado and a juicy chicken breast on SOURDOUGH. GROWL! Even your “pedestrian foods” are inspiring. Thanks for sharing John.

Wow. I thought that was thunder! It just so happens we’re having a substantial amount of water droplets falling from overhead. Unusual in these here parts.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to drop in! It’s always good to hear from you!

      • If you call staring at your cell phone waiting for it to ring busy… then I’m the busiest man on earth. My life is literally on hold until I sell my house. Carrie won’t even allow me to cook so I don’t mess up her “show the house ready” kitchen.

Just keeping a list of all your great ideas for when I’m allowed to cook again. Keep them coming my friend!!!

Speak up, you know you want to!
